Genealogy Resources on the Internet Includes general mailing lists, or mailing lists by surname or by state; newsgroups; FTP sites; etc. Here are the one most relevant to my genealogy interests.
GRAVES (includes Graff): A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information regarding the Graves surname and variations (e.g., Graff) in any place and at any time. Mailing address for postings is To subscribe send the word "subscribe" (without the quotes) as the only text in the body of a message to (mail mode) or (digest mode).

GRAVES-FAM-ASSOC (includes Greaves): A mailing list for the discussion of activities, research, publications, and programs of the Graves Family Association (GFA). The GFA is an international organization for descendants of all Graves, Greaves (and variant spellings) families. You must be a member of the GFA and a subscriber to post to the list and posting instructions will be provided when you subscribe. To join the GFA or to subscribe to the list, send a message to Kenneth Graves at describing your interests in the Graves surname and requesting that you be added to the list.

Jesse McCLENDON who had at least one son named "Joe", Joseph P. (P. = Parker?) McCLENDON (March 9, 1857 - June 22, 1933). "Joe", Joseph P. first married Julia LOTT, who was 1/4 Indian. They had the following children: Chester Eugene McCLENDON, John Edward McCLENDON (who is in my direct lineage, see marriages, below), Leoter or Leota (married Richard Cowart), Henry Monroe McCLENDON, and Minnie Belle (married James Warren MIZELL).

John Edward McCLENDON's second marriage was to Mabel GRAVES Britt (January 2, 1907 - July 29, 1930). Mabel GRAVES Britt had a daughter named Bernice BRITT from her 1st marriage to Luther BRITT. Bernice lived with the new family of John Edward McCLENDON and Mabel GRAVES Britt, who had two children: Eddie Mae and, my father - John Eugene.
